We have exciting news!!! The state just informed us they are going to go back and pay for all student meals for the month of August also!! So if you have paid your child’s lunch bill for August your child’s lunch account will be credited and when we go back to regular pay in January they will have a credit on their account!

It's time for SCHOOL PICTURES! Elementary will take their pictures on Friday, Sept. 18. Middle School and High School will take their pictures on Monday, Sept. 21.

The HS Beta Club will be handing out boxes of food on Wednesday, September 16th from 4 - 7 pm in the multipurpose parking lot for Hinton area families of Hinton students. These boxes were donated by Feed the Children. There are approximately 125 boxes, each weighing 25 pounds. These boxes include cereal, macaroni and cheese, canned goods and much more.

This has been Hinton's 4th week in school! As we all are aware, being at school in person can change in a moment. It is important for students and parents to be mindful of Hinton Schools Re-Entry Plan A-C. This plan outlines the districts screening protocol for all students and staff members. All parents are encouraged to screen their children at home each day. Each morning all students who ride a bus are checked for a temperature before they are able to load on the bus . Other students who do not ride a bus will be checked upon entrance to their school building. If a student has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, the student is not able to be at school. Students who come to school with a temperature or symptoms of a communicable disease are put into isolation and their parent or guardian is contacted so the student can go home immediately. Parents will be encouraged to have their child tested for COVID-19 at any local health department. We currently have four active cases in the Hinton area. We
do not have any students or staff with the virus. Hinton Schools appreciates the continued support of the parents and community. Together, we can stop the spread in our area!

Hinton Schools has been in session 12 days! During these 12 days our Hinton Community/Area has remained at 4 active COVID-19 cases each day. All parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators please continue to follow the Hinton Schools Re-Entry Plans and Procedures. There is nothing more important to Hinton Schools than the safety and health of our students, our staff and their families. Be mindful of following best practices to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
-Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
-Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 % alcohol if soap and water aren't available.
-Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
-Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
-Stay at home when you are sick.
-Practice social distancing, leaving at least six feet between you and other people.
-Wear a cloth mask in public when you cannot social distance.
COVID-19 is transmitted through person-to-person contact and through the exchange of respiratory droplets. As more cases are being confirmed across the state, we must be vigilant. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you or any member of your family exhibit these symptoms, please contact your medical provider for advice immediately. Symptoms usually appear 2-14 days after exposure.
Our greatest priority is the safety of our students, staff and community members. We appreciate everyone and the continued support of Hinton Schools. GO COMETS!

Please let the building secretary of your oldest child(ren) know if there is a need for internet service for your student(s). Distance Learning is a path that may have to be taken at any time. Hinton Schools wants to make sure all students can access online Distance Learning through the use of cell phone hotspots or by your internet provider. Many parents have a hotspot option from their cell service. Again, contact the school secretary of your oldest child to let us know if you do not have this for your home. It is important to have access and connectivity before the possibility of Distance Learning happens for your child(ren). Call 405-542-3235 and press the extension needed to talk to the secretary.

Each year, the Fourth Grade classes have the honor of putting up the American Flag and the Oklahoma flag in front of the elementary. These students have done a great job so far, and we are proud of them!
